Data in the tables and hosts version distribution is updated every 30 minutes, data in the charts is updated daily around 3:00AM UTC.

"Active Hosts" are obtained from the local hostdb of SiaStats node. "Used storage" corresponds to online hosts irrespective of their setup accepting or now new contracts. "Total Storage" corresponds exclusively to online hosts that are also accepting new contracts.

A customization in the code of Sia was introduced on January 11th, 2018 to allow many more hosts scans in the same time (Thanks @Sanasol from SiaHub for the help). Previously Sia could neither check all the current hosts in the database (resulting in hosts disconnected long ago still being included) nor every new hosts being included (resulting in undresampled network storage). For this reason, data prior to that date will not be totally accurate. This has been refelected with plotted lines in the charts.

(*) Network usage and capacity are not intrinsic properties of the network, and instead rely on the behavior of its users. Predicting mathematically the human behavior is not realistic, as trends can quickly change. This limits the accuracy and power of the projections shown on the chart. The regression models are presented exclusively with an informational and educational aim about possible future outcomes, and should not be considered ground truth.
