The shown tests are performed using the siad_load_tester package developed by Michael Lynch (mtlynch). The data is post-processed for trans-test comparison in this page with the script sia-test-parser. The script, togheter with the front-end of this page is available on this public repository.

The data is shown, for clarity, segregated in "3x redundancy" and "no redundancy". The second represents the costs, upload bandwith and total data considering "absolute bytes". In other words, represent the data irrespective of if it is a redundant copy or a new file. Thus, it can be orientative for renters that use a file redundancy different from the Sia default of 3x. "3x redundancy", also referred, as "file bytes" accounts for the parameters considering A) that each file is uploaded 3 times in Sia default configuration and B) additional redundancy provoked by hosts going offline (and so requiring to upload additional copies to new hosts) and/or other inefficiencies.

SiaStats is very grateful with the STAC for selecting us for showing the results of these tests (and with the proper Testers), aimed to provide transparent and independent information about the the real-word results of the Sia network and its improvement after each new software iteration.

(*) Efficiency represents the relative costs of Sia storage considering the redundancy used. 100% efficiency would depict that the data is uploaded only once. Due to the 3x redundancy of Sia by default, the expected normal efficiency of Sia should be 33.3%. Efficiencies bellow this number represent additional copies being uploaded to replace bad hosts or other misfunctionings requiring to upload more data than expected.
